Our six specialized departments dedicated to advancing Ayurvedic research and practice
The department aims to translate the principles, practices and products of Ayurveda for the use of the community. This will be supported by divisions of microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology and genomics.
The focus of the department will be on standardisation, development, validation, bioactivity studies and phytoconstituent screening on medicinal flora, fauna, and natural products.
The department will work on pharmacological and reverse- pharmacological studies in Ayurvedic medicines. This component will take part in developing standardised, safe and quality medicine and also report adverse drug reactions of Ayurvedic drugs.
The focus is to conduct epidemiological studies based on Ayurvedic theory and practice. This will help in developing evidence-based protocols for disease management to integrate Ayurvedic products and practices into mainstream public health safely.
The department will focus on identifying, collecting and preserving local, regional and national health heritage-related information and artefacts.
The department aims to design, launch and update web-based applications, AI tools and software through creative interaction with various departments of IRIA. This will act as technological support for the institute.
